I've started my clutch and rear main seal replacement project.
There appears to be some debate about the best way to remove the flywheel bolts in rennlist.
There are those who use an impact wrench and those with just a bit and breaker bar.
I'm wondering if any of you guys could provide some comments on your experiences,
I have questions like:
Do you need a compact impact wrench?
How do you keep the engine from turning if you use a breaker bar?
What about installation, how do you keep the engine from turning then?
Sharkskin used some metal strapping. Are there other methods that work well?

Also, how do you prefer to remove that pilot bearing. That hydraulic method looks slick, but potentially a real mess. Can you use a wood dowel for that?
Or would a bearing puller be just as good? What kind of puller? Anything special?

thanks!

Impact gun for the flywheel bolts with a fresh bit. Hands down, don't even bother with any other way, as you want to avoid spinning the motor backwards at all.

Bolt method for the pilot bearing.

Ok thanks Adam!
I'll try the impact gun way. I just ordered the bit.
I also just found the bearing puller rennlist post too. Cleaver. I'll give it a go.

Both methods worked great!
