I want to contribute my 2 cents regarding tires because I'm running the newly released
Yokohama AVS S4 all weather tire. These are excellent is both ride and poor road conditions. I
really labored over buying these and was eventually convinced by Denny Kahler that these
tires were an excellent choice for the 928. I was considering several others including the AVS
Intermediate. Denny has installed 30 sets to date and every one except one, on a 930 Turbo, are
still on the road. They could not hold up under the driving conditions of the Turbo. I am more
than satisfied with them and would recommend them if you are not an extremely hard driver,
which I am not, and need handling in the rain or snow. I was told, but have not tested, that you
do not need chains with these tires in the snow. I did test them in the rain and found they were
excellent. However, the real beauty of these is the ride. It is far superior to any I've experienced.

I've test driven many 928's over the past 3 years. The S4's are extremely quiet and handle better
than I can drive them. I'm sure they will not provide performance to a level some 928 owners on
this list require. But for the average daily 928 driver like me, who will experience all weather
conditions, I highly recommend considering the S4 over the Intermediate.
