AC Repair Story

I recently had the AC woes also so I figured I'd fill-up some space with my experience, hopefully
to someone's benefit. First, the failure- Compressor front seal. Immediate cause- Temperature
switch on drier (less than 1yr old) failed- no fan- overpressure- front seal- pop. After
discussion with several, dealer (Danbury Porsche, good experiences with them), David Roberts,
others and looking at rather pitifully small condenser area- decided not to go 134. After pricing
rebuilt compressors decided to opt for Sanden rotory unit. Purchased unit from Griffith's Tech
included everything to mount and was reasonbly priced. Had very good experience with owner
at Griffith's (Charlie, I think) helpful, etc. Put everything back together and had it refilled, Better
than new..... actually have to turn the temp down now. Any questions give me a shout.
