Steering Wheel Squeak
>I have an annoying problem I hope someone can help with.
>As I drive, when I turn the steering wheel about 90 degrees past
>straight either left or right it squeaks.
Purchase a 27mm socket and take the wheel completely off. Take care when removing the horn
cover as the horn wire will be connected to it. Get a good grease, I used marine grease from my
boat, and wipe it on the metal ring on the back of the steering wheel. Put some on the metal
contact which is attached to the steering column as well. These two items make contact with
each other when the wheel is on. They were squeaking on my car when I bought it. I've had
complete silence ever since.
