Harness Installation
I would like to install a racing harness (4 or 5 points seat belts) in my '88 5sp. I am sliding around and hanging onto the steering wheel when I am on the tracks. I reckon I may be able to shave a few more seconds off my time if I am bukle in properly and concentrate on steering/driving. I am thinking of trying out the belts first before changing to racing seat. If the belts works I may not need the seat.
I would like to find out where the mounting points for the belts could be.
TIA

I installed a five pt. harness in my GT, and I only had to drill one hole for the inside lap belt. For the submarine belt I was able to fit the eye bolt and a large washer through a hole on the seat's motor support bracket. The outside lap belt mounts to the eye bolt that replaces the bolt that anchors the OEM lap belt. The sholder harnesses attach to the belt holder sold by DEVEK which mounts onto the rear shock tower. OED. YMMV.

I just did this install on my 1984 928S. Bought a pair of Auto Pro Racing Systems Harnesses from Racers Wholesale. The lap belts mounted to the two OEM seat belt mount points (side of tunnel and base of B pillar). I used the Devek shock tower mounts for the shoulder belts. Mounted the crotch strap to a hole in one of the brackets under the sport seats (conviniently centered). Looks great in red contrasting with my black leather interior and really holds your position.
