1980 – 1984 US L-Jetronic AFC/Fuel Injection Relay

The L-Jetronic Air Flow Control/Fuel injection relay is P/N 928.615.119.00 and is available as superseded P/N: 928 615 119 01.

 

The Air Flow Control relay is commonly called the Fuel Injection Relay.  It powers the fuel injectors and the L-Jetronic fuel injection module.  The engine cannot run if this relay fails.

 

The connections to the Speed Relay, AC P/N 928.615.119.01 are:

30 = direct connection to battery voltage
85 = 31 bus Ground
86 = 15 bus, ignition switch turned on
87 =  switched output to fuel injectors via central electric W2 and W3
87a =  to L-Jetronic module pins 29 and 10 via W4 and W5

Note: I found the separate 87 and 87a are not illustrated in the Porsche factory workshop.  If the relay fails, a temporary solution is to “jumper” the AFC relay with a “Y” shaped jumper wire must be constructed to connect to the relay socket positions 30, 87 and 87a.
