Hi all.

It was a very busy tight schedule to get the car done and perform the concert for the 4 battle of the bands including the front band for Bon Jovi.
The first time I started the car after the main bearing install was the 4th and we left on the 11th.

I have some pics and videos so stay tuned.
the first leg of our trip is shown by the link below

We headed out as the road stretched in front of us

The Car Ran Great and never gave me any real problems other then some minor electrical glitches with the tach and the wipers only having high speed.

The car was packed right to the top of the hatch to where it would not have closed had Deb packed another high heal ha ha

Canada is so beautiful. Tennessee looks nothing like that. We have mountains in east Tennessee but nothing is as nice as that. I'm truly jealous.

I am pleased that my work on the car seems to have been correct and now that I have taken it on the longest drive since i have owned it.

I AM Truly a 928 PORSCHE LOVER

Compared to those we have no moutains in the east only foothills. Thanks for sharing. Glad to here the car ran well. Mine is comming along. These machines were meant for the road and to be driven. When they break fix'em and drive them some more.

This is my new, favorite 928-related quotation. :D

The second part of the trip was the link below

maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&sadd...966055,11.469727&z=7

The last part of the trip took us home

maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&sadd...671917,45.878906&z=5

so the entire trip looked like the map below

maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&sadd...2.939453&ie=UTF8&z=6

That makes a 3000 kilometer plus trip that the old girl made and she never missed a beat.

I need to get at those grounds for sure.
I wish everyone the same joy as I had with their 928

Go ahead and post the link. Like to see them. Also what type of detector is that and are they worth the money? I've never had one. My radar speed control sits in the right seat and goes of eratically.

I hope this year Deb will be well enough to take another trip.

It was a blast last year to spend two weeks driving on our holiday in such a classic road car that loves as much speed and adventure as we do.

This was a great thread Brad. I loved the pictures and captions. I hope you and your wife are able to this again this year.

Malcolm is that B&B open to all 928 owners? :)

Here's hoping that you make it out this year. You need to put the car back together though. If you can make it east, Julie and I are going to drive the east coast. 2 928 are better than 1. Maybe pick up a few more on route. Just picture 5 to 10 928 getting on the ferry to Newfoundland or a convoy driving the cabbot trail. Gotta get these cars on the road.

When are you going East Dave? My wife (Lindy) and I are thinking of doing the same - I'm not sure my 928 will be my first pick at that time tho - more work to do and then it needs a few successful day trips before I'd trust it.

We'll likely be doing end of July as my wife is a teacher and works to the end of June. I'll be interested to hear how it went - and which areas are especially 'suitable' for a 928 ;)
