Looking at upgrading the audio system in my 84 to a GPS/Blootooth/SiriusXM capable system and get rid of that hideous power antenna on the left rear quarter for a sharkfin style antenna mounted on the rear of the roof or the very top of the hatch. Anyone have some experience in where to purchase a functional sharkfin that will support GPS/SiriusXM and regualr AM/FM bands? Want to do this when the body goes in for painting so all necessary bodywork, etc can get done at the same time.

You can get the big Sharkfins that come on BMWs and I think there is an aftermarket co that makes them as well for any application. However as I recall, you can also have the smaller ones. I think the diff is that one will require a hole in your roof. The big ones have everything inside and just need a cable out of the back. Various Google searches will find them. I was really interested in a Sharkfin as well since the PO deleted my rear power antenna, But I thought the big ones were a bit too big and I did not want to cut a hole in the roof for the 2 part kind. So i am still on the fence.
You can put the small kind like 928Mac has on the roof as well of course.
