It is about time for the 928 to come back!

I guess all the people who grew up wanting one can finally buy a nice example, and they're willing to pay for them. That's good for those of us who bought them cheap, and in need of repair. I can understand why the 928 fell to the wayside. In photos, it just isn't that great looking of a car. You don't get to sense whatever it is you sense when you sit in one. But when you do meet one in person... I became very sick with Porsche fever, and it only took a couple of months before I had one.

Jeremy Clarkson has repeatedly talked about his love for the 928, and whichever episode of TopGear where he drove around in that black GTS was my first exposure to it. The styling has always been interesting, but it took seeing one in person to understand why people are so enthusiastic about it. Photos just don't do the car justice, but you can't help but fall in love with it when you see the car in person. It's definitely mean, but very elegant overall. Sporty from the from, pure muscle from the rear. It feels long and low like a road going rocket.

Then you get in the driver's seat, and it is a whole new level. My car doesn't yet have power steering, it has a terrible flat spot in the front right wheel (not tire) and I can still feel how amazing this car is on the road. I suppose I should stop this soliloquy and get back to work, but my 928 is not too far from being road worthy, and it is starting to get very exciting!
