I would not hesitate suggesting someone get a early car to start with. The problem is that there are likely less of them in decent condition due to the smaller numbers built and general age. But if you find one, like I did, with good suspension, a good respray done and a well running engine,,,,you got a lot of the basics covered to start restoring!
Couldn't agree more, Michael. I love the US '83-'84 models for all of the same reasons and agree that they may make the best 928 starting point. I also agree that they are hard to find in good cosmetic shape. Inside and out, they are normally pretty rough.
