Motor Mount Question was created by raidonzap
Hi all,

Getting close to putting everything back together and have run into this:

The new Volvo mounts are too tall for the stop plate the goes between the cross-member and mount to fit properly.

Is the stop plate deleted with the Volvo mounts?

Picture one and three are the old mounts. Two and four are the Volvo mounts.

Perhaps these pics show the stop plate not fitting into the bracket with the taller mount.

Raidonzap,
The weight of the engine as you lower it into place while fitting the Volvo MM's will press the stop plate into postion if you are having trouble. Latch the hook on the stop plate and let the weight press the back end down flat.

Install them as is, they will be a bit harder to get in the stop plates install right, but once in there and the engine settled it will be good. Some have said you should pry the teeth away from each other but I've not had to do that on over a dozen cars.

Put the 'hooks' together, which will mean the larger end of the plate will be up at an angle, but once you tighten them down you will be fine.
