I am trying to narrow down a noise that occurs when I let out the clutch(in gear) it kind of remind me of a real bad universal joint. Within the torque tube is there a driveshaft with universal joints or is it a different set up? Its a 82 928.
It's a straight shaft with 3 bearing encased inside the tube. The bearings have tendency to migrate which can cause noise. The bearings also wear out. Rebuilding the torque tube is not THAT difficult according to the pundits, but pulling the torque tube can be difficult.
