Wheel sizes? was created by PCA0891
I have located a set of CIII wheels. Will a 18X11 rear wheel fit on my 88 S4? Learning curve

Here is a good place to start for info on Porsche wheels. The most important thing is body clearance and the overall Geometry of the chassis. Personally I would do a 17 but 18, 19 are not actually ok with Porsche for our cars. Does not mean you can't do it, but just an opinion. Width matters more for the body clearance.

This is a nice chart. There is another calculator someone wrote that will tell you what will fit on your car. You can do a Google search on Porsche Tire Calculator and you may find it, don;t know if it is kept up or still accurate.

good luck

I like the 18" but not 19" on 928's and 17" are what the cars were really able to use best (and of course 16"). One thing I really noticed going from 16" slotted dishes on my '88 S4 to 18" CLW's was that the car didn't stop nearly as well as it had before. The extra rotating mass made quite a big difference actually!

CIII 11" rears will require some spacers for sure, the 10" should bolt right on... Also might have to roll the fenders a bit with 11". I'd stick with 10" wide personally.

Robert......the 928 has some unusual offsets hence not all wheels fit at all........I send you a PM re. my CIIIs; 57 and 58 offsets.

There is indeed a specific 928 wheel chart that was created by a member and demonstrated along with alignment at OCIC this year. I'll dig it up for you.

Not to hijack PCAs thread Malcolm, but would you send me a pic of your Carrera IIIs ? I want to get 65mm offsets like from the 94 GTS wheels, but I really like the Carrera IIIs. I could live with 57 and 58 offsets on my 83 I believe. How wide are they as well?

BTW I have a copy of a very detailed pdf from one of our Aussie friends on 928 wheels, here is a link to it on the web

or Google this - it is the 1st or 2nd hit

I currently have the CIII wheels on my GTS and kept the rear wheel spacers in place, widths are 8" and 10":
