Cold Air Intake for 1980 928 was created by DarrylJames928
Help! Can anyone advise why there are none? I spk w. 928 International and they said the 928 is cold air intake from scratch but although I agree it is air intake ... I don't think the air is "cooled".

Thanks.

Darryl

Darryl, check with Roger at 928sRus. He developed one for later cars and I believe he was working on one for 16v cars. I want one too as I have an 83. If he does not, I have not seen one commercially available.

The problem with earlier cars is that there are too few of them to make it worthwhile to create a lot of products for them specifically.

Let us know what Roger says

Darryl,

I am not sure what you are looking for... The tubes that draw air in to the air cleaner box are ducted from above the radiator in "cool" air. Obviously that air is going to get warm as it passes through the hot hoses that duct the air in, but that would be the same no matter what system you picked.

The only TRUE cool air intake is to cut a hole in your hood near the base of the windshield and then cut a hole in the top of your airbox and get air from that high pressure location... That is how my race car is set up actually...

You could fab up something similar to what I have on my twin screw car. You could get some 4 inch elbows and silcone hose and cut a hole in the fenderwell and mount an air filter right behind the headlight. This makes for a truly cool air charge and keeps the filter away from water and debris.

Ed,

Funny that you mention this... I just saw a car in AZ so modified! The car was UNREAL frankly! The work was AMAZING! Done by Dan at Exotic Motorsports (I think that is the company name). It absolutely blew me away!!!
