Duplicate Keys was created by GlennS
Has anyone had recent success getting duplicate keys made? I ordered a duplicate jockey key from Porsche through a dealer probably over 10 years ago. I have recently tried getting duplicate keys from several sources including multiple Porsche dealers with no success. I am under the impression I need to find someone who specializes in automobile keys. I understand that Porsche no longer makes keys for the older (eight digit) VIN numbers. Any good advice/recommendations out there? Thanks,Glenn

I used Keys4Classics, they're a long distance away down-under but all worked well for my 1979 928.

Just to follow up and for the benefit of other members. I ordered two master keys from keys4classics.com and they work perfectly. Just follow the instructions they give you. Thanks again Rich I really appreciate your excellent advice.

When you ordered those master keys, I assume you had the code number? I just obtained a 1985 but do not have the code number.

No key number needed, they cut the keys from photographs!

For this reason I suggest that everyone take good photos of their 928 keys so if they're lost you can easily order replacements.

That's good information. Please excuse my lack of knowledge, but my car came with one key that has a button that I was under the understanding controlled the door locks. the button does not work and a new battery in there didn't seem to help. Supposedly there's a little light in there too, and the light doesn't work with a new battery so I just assume the Chip/circuit was bad. I was hoping to get a replacement for that

The Porsche 928 was never delivered with door lock-unlock via key button.  All the button does is turn on the little lamp in the key ... so in the dark you can find where to insert the key.

Some 928s today may have that feature, but only as an aftermarket installation.
