Can anyone provide a pic or pics on where the block drains are? I've seen the photo in the book, but it doesn't orient me. Does someone have a pic that is taken a little further back, so I can get my bearings? Thanks for any help.

Probably would help if you told us what MY your 928 is.

Not that I could help much though. I barely know where the oil pan drain plug is. :)

Data point for someone who may not know, "MY" = Model Year
(in my terminology anyways).

Hang on and ILL see if I got a pic in my Photobucket.

Here it is near the rear of the engine, in the rear cylinder chamber, on both sides (be very careful not to strip it by over tightening it)

Perfect! Now MY 1984 can really be drained and flushed! Thanks for being kind to this first timer.

Is that location the same for all years and engine types?

That I can not verify but maybe one of the other guys can.

Crawl under and have a look, it is on the side of the block there somewhere.

Truthfully, when I first got my car and saw the coolant was brown, I ran water through the top and left the rad drain open until it started to run clear.
This dose not flush the engine unless it is running. I just keep filling the bottle with a hose.

I only did this because I new I was going to pull the engine in a few months and replace the gaskets.

I guess I am not a purest

As far as I know, Brad's photos point to the only location that I have ever seen for the block drains on our engines.

Be cautious when breaking those block drains free. You'll snap the bolt head right off from them if you're not very careful. Take your time.
