on my trailer :)

A local 928 owner decided after years of fighting a problem and watching the car decay that he had enough. We corresponded for a few months, before it became mine.

I have put up some photos at 928racing.net/928_89_s4_auto_blue/

I connected a boost pack to it tonight and also had to connect jumper cables from my truck, but it did start, and run poorly...

Stan.....will it spin enough to do a compression check?

If thats good then we can gestimate the rest with a intake, tbelt/wp/gears and all the WYAI projects :)

Brad, I just keep that there, as I have accumulated the parts but progress on assembling is lacking. The parts list is below, the asking price would be $25k :)
tbi intake with air box parts
MoTec M48 setup for 928
32v cams profiled for racing
32v heads with 968 valves
block bored & lapped 104mm
968 pistons, HPC coated (used pistons before coating)
Scat stroker crank
Oliver rods for 968 pistons
Main Bearings Grooved
Rod Bearings - Clevite
Tri-Y Headers - Jet Hot coated
dry sump pan

I also have a GT transmission I could sell.

Of course I would rather build it and race it, but I have too many other distractions so haven't moved forward.

Malcolm,

Yes, and as I have a leakdown kit, I would be inclined to do that as well. Time is always the issue, so of course one would wonder why I bought the car.... I thought it too good of an opportunity to pass on.

Stan you said that the car started but was running rough.
That may be normal for the first 1/2 hour since it has sat for so long.
I would run it with fresh oil and watch the temp.
It may take the rings 20 min to reseat and or the lifters may have leaked down and have air in them (doubt it with the lifters though)
either way if it started I would run it at 1200 rpm, let everything free up and heat up.

on another note;
the stroker list is just like I would have done it except I don't know if I would go ITB due to the extra agrivation.
If I did go ITB I would plum a blower in at the same time.
Very Very Nice list.
Man you have hours of pleaser time in assembly. Fun Fun stuff.
opps I might have leaked a little just thinking about it
