Sorry to have left you hanging so long! Wow, what a development with the tree. Must be a sign? Hopefully augers well for your current project. At any rate...wur v. fpr is confusing me- my 83 Euro also has wur...no the 80 euro should be CIS not ljet. If they are both CIS and you just mean swapping wur for wur yes should be workable.

Any more progress? Having an old CIS myself, reading with interest. Bummer about the tree. Did you get to keep them for parts at least?

You can be a mechanic or technician...The choice is in HOW you fix it, not THAT you fix it.

So far I have not had any progress other than getting my cis gauges back in working order. The guy that is just outside of town bought the majority of the wrecks for some of his projects, really the parts I needed were already gone/damaged beyond use and I just barely made my money back. I had Comprehensive for a classic vehicle for theft or damage so it covered most of it and the tree company covered the remainder along with my deductible. I have verified that I am getting proper flow for a 2 fp setup, which my car originally had, now only 1 pump with the strainer since I upgraded to a newer fuel tank. As I stated, almost everyone I know that has any mechanical experience won't help me since they're too scared to mess anything up, but whatever. I have tried to get the guy that's just out of town to come over, but he's either not home or busy so I think I may have to take it to a guys shop and have him do it. Right now it seems VERY rich which may have something to do with my adjustment there at the FD/air meter. I still don't really understand how I can check for proper adjustment seeing as there is no port for an o2 sensor, other than sticking a meter down the pipe from the rear. To refresh, this is a 79 Euro with NO EMISSIONS AND NO FEDERALIZATION. As to the FPR/WUR, I believe that what I found is not a FPR, but a damper for something else fuel related from an 80 Euro S [read BIGAL's car], when he switched to the megasquirt, I got the majority of parts from his car. It is back on the ground and off jackstands at this point so that is always a good sign, but it's getting back to late fall in Michigan and if I can't get it running properly soon it will be going back up on jackstands until the spring. I am still attempting to upload pics, but it seems that the files from my phone are WAY too large. I'll try to get them to Photobucket and update with the link here. VERY interesting sections of the ring gear missing along with the engine hanging from my service truck crane.
Thanks for the support through this lengthy process.

Shouldn't be any dampers that I recall. Maybe it's the hot start valve that some CIS cars were equipped with? Or else the decel valve- but that doesn't interact with the fuel system. Can't think of what else would look like a dampner/regulator on a CIS/Euro. Still sounds like L-jet gear to me.
Edit-- on second thought there is the fuel accumulator. Two locations but most often in rear fenderwell....big honking thing, failure mode is normally to dump fuel all over the place, though one has to wonder whether the diaphragm inside could fail and still not spill fuel through the housing. WOuldn't be a factor on the rich running though. Price on the infernal thing has quad or quintupled in the last few years. WEll, seems like a 'few' years, anyway...

My fuel accumulator is in the rear passenger side fender, I'm not sure what the part is really, but I know I don't have one on my car...thought it was a FPR for a quick minute, but no. Been busy with my day job and also with a new venture...I'm officially in production mode for custom firearms and that has been keeping me pretty busy. I was going to get back at the car since I fixed my gauges, but weather has been getting colder. I'm going to see if I can find a space indoors somewhere to take my cars so that I can get them finished. The 'vette is almost completed, just needs paint, and the 79 Euro, well, we know how that one's going...
The OBWan himself needs to take a look at this thing and give me an idea where to go...
