I would say I am down to about half of the car now. The interior is completely gone. Anyway, if you have a '85-'86 US model with needs, let me know if I can be of service. Lots of good parts still remain.

Brad, you'd be surprised out how different the '85 model is from the '89. Almost nothing interchanges. Kind of weird considering that the engines are identical displacements huh? In fact, I think the crank and rods may be the only interchangeable engine parts. Though the '85 uses the LH-Jet 2.2 fuel injection brain whereas the '89 uses the LH 2.3, I would expect some of the related sensors and such may be interchangeable. Off the top of my head I am not sure, but that may be about all the goodies that would have any worth to your S4. That is, unless you ever break a door glass or something. :p

Hi Al, I should still have it. I hate to confirm without looking first, but I'm 99% sure. Can't promise anything as far as quality of course, but I presume it should still work fine. In the event that it didn't, I would gladly take it back. Let me know if you're still interested and we'll go from there.

Hi,

I have an 83 and could use the splash guard that fits behind the rear wheel on the gas tank filler side or rear right side. Thanks.

I purposely left that detail out as I thought I may need a good 4 speed automatic for my '84 one day. I don't think I could part ways with the transmission.

And for those that don't know;

Roger of 928srus.com is a strong advocate of the 928 with an automatic. I believe he has suggested converting a GTS 5 speed (rare) to an automatic to improve it. All in good fun.... at least we hope so!

Roger is a great guy.

As for me, I am a fan of the manual

Austin,

Do you have the front grill available?? (I guess that is what you would call it - the slats above the front spoiler)

Thanks, Paul

Remarkably, the car is still pretty complete. I should post some pictures of it if I can find some. The car was in fantastic cosmetic shape inside and out the day I got it. Got it for $1300!!! It wasn't a runner, though, until I replaced the ignition switch. ;)

Bad tranny and loads of deferred maintenance = parts car in my quick analysis of the situation. It's worked out good so far. It's donated a pristine interior of matching colors to replace my trashed interior in the '84 and several other small things. The '86.5 got an engine wiring harness since it was burnt up in an accident. There's no telling how much this car has saved me in parts. Besides that, I've come out alright selling bits off of it too. If the significant other wouldn't kill me for doing it, I wouldn't mind taking on a few more of these dismantle projects. :)

I could use the passenger side front wheel wheel liner for the FRONT of the wheel well if you have one...

Also a left rear tail light lens...I only need the lens, my housing is fine, just a cracked lens.

And if you have it (and can get it out w/o breaking it) a good drives door sill. The plastic part that says "928" on it...

All this is for the EURO85 save! YEA...coming along nicely I might add.

I also agree with your point on parts cars! If you have a couple of 928's it is no bad thing to have a good parts car!!!

The engine is in fine working order. I wouldn't consider selling it for any less than $2000. I think that is fair as I would have to obviously pull it from the car and my time and labor isn't free of course. :D

I definitely would not consider parting the engine. Either I would sell it whole or not at all.
